The studio
Dark Heart Studio is a small independent tattoo and piercing studio tucked along Watchouse Road, a short way out from the middle of Chelmsford. It is the kind of place you come to for something you have thought about, drawn up with the artist first, and want done properly.
The work leans neo-traditional and full colour — bold line, solid black, colour that stays reading years down the line — alongside blackwork and the classic old-school subjects. Bring a reference or a rough idea and it gets worked into a design that fits the body it is going on.
Everything is by appointment so each booking gets its own unhurried slot rather than being squeezed between three others. Piercings are done at the same bench, same standards. If you are not sure what you want yet, that is fine — a lot of good tattoos start as a conversation and a stencil.
It is a studio, not a factory. Clean, licensed, and run by people who have been marking skin in this city for years.

What we do
Bespoke designs drawn for you — neo-traditional, full colour, blackwork and traditional flash. Cover-ups and reworks considered. Every piece is quoted per design; ask and you will get an honest price and time.
Body and nose piercing done at the same bench, to the same clean standards as the tattoo work. Drop a message or call to check what is available and book a slot.
Work is by appointment so your slot is yours. You will be talked through aftercare before you leave, and you can always call back if you have a question while it heals.
